Shirokuma Pantai Indah Kapuk

Saturday, July 26, 2014

I skipped a day of my duty as Buddy Coordinator at Freshmen Enrichment Program in my university (later I will tell you about this at next upcoming post) as I had some business to do at Pantai Indah Kapuk. After finished the business, let's search the newest food in Pantai Indah Kapuk.

Shirokuma
Friends lately talk and post the photos at Instagram about Shirokuma, so we decided to go here. So hard to find Shirokuma as we twice rounding around, it's located beside Han Ok Korean Grill, and the place is kinda small so we didn't see it first.

Shirokuma from outside.

Yes, Shirokuma's still closed when we arrived LOL.

Arrived 10 minutes in advance before Shirokuma opens at 12 PM, but the waitress allowed us to wait inside with the other guests. Got some good views inside, although this place is kinda small, but it has such a nice interior with green and blue pastel pallete with earthy materials + more open space and windows so sunlight easily comes through.

A mural inside.

What a lovely colors pallete they choose + love the windows.

The seats.

Even they put this cute mini cactus. LOL.

The most important thing why I love to be in Shirokuma is EVERYTHING IS GREEN and I love green! You know, although my name shows I'm "the red one", but I do love green.

What did we order?

Shiratama Parfait. (Rp 35.000)

It's a soft cream layered with cornflakes, mochi, shiratama balls, red bean paste, and matcha jelly. Oh, forget to tell you, matcha is the main menu's taste in Shirokuma. So, here it is, matcha everywhere! It's kinda like ice cream, but little bit different. Mmm anyway... the matcha tastes good, worth to try.

Details of the dessert.

Just guess what's inside the bucket.

ShakaFries Nori. (Rp 23.000)

Shakafries comes in three different seasonings : chilli salt, nori, and barbecue (all Rp 23.000). This fries were not oily + they put the right amount of seasoning. Was guessing about the secret seasoning they put, as it tasted so nice. :9

Tonkatsu Dog. (Rp 45.000)

This hot dog served with battered sausage, tonkatsu sauce, Japanese mayonnaise and hot yellow mustard. Well guys, it's non-halal, as you can see on its name (Tonkatsu means pork). Super love this big hot dog and the crispy sausage. The most important thing I love from this menu, they put much butter inside and toast it perfectly, little bit crispy and gold brown colored. Scrumptious!

Too scrumptious to be seen!

The gold brown colored bread inside.

Conclusion?
Better if you go here at day, the rumour says Shirokuma is crowded at night + enjoy the sunlight inside this greenhouse-look-alike cafe. Love the ambience, nice service from the waiters and the matcha! Anyway, I got a unique thing I noticed, I like how they made their own food-grade paper for wrapping the tonkatsu and shakafries. It's like newspaper, but actually it's not.

And.. oh, the price is affordable, so come here quickly!

Enjoy your day.
